Barely a month after the surprise ban of 59 popular Chinese apps, the Indian government has reportedly announced to suspend 47 additional Chinese apps in the country, which are cloned copies of previously banned services. These apps include Tiktok Lite, Helo Lite, Shareit Lite, Bigo Live Lite and VFY Lite.

Out of the previous list of banned Chinese apps, India was the largest overseas market for short-video making app TikTok, and an important market for CamScanner, Shareit, UC Browser, to name a few.

While this is bad news for Chinese firms, home-grown apps like Trell, Rizzle, Aiisma, Mitron, Khabri, Roposo, Chingari, among others appear to be benefitting from the big move and luring users on their platforms with Indian technology.
